Can I Produce Good Wine?
Possible, but costy

The air in desert climate is immensely dry, due to the fact that evaporation happens at a faster rate than precipitation. Meaning, more air is being evaporated than rainfall frequency, causing the air to be dry.

Establishing a winery in a desert is still possible, however, one should be prepared in investing a large portion of money on irrigation system. Sprinkler system is highly not recommended, because the water sprayed in the air will evaporate, causing a large amount of water to be lost. Drip irrigation is used in dry climates where the hoses are buried in the soil or laying on the surface decreasing evaporation losses

A winery located in Prosser, Washington named Desert Wind Winery exhibits a desert climate and had produced quality wine rated '90 points' by Wine Spectator. Visit their website by clicking here.
