Geographers travel through out the world studying the different environmental factors such as climate, soil, precipitation and so on. The taste and aroma of wine is largely due to the importance of geography. This book gives a detailed explanation on how different environmental aspect can have a great impact in wine production, this includes how microclimate, soil, and terroir affects the growing process.

Geography is the study of the Earth's environment such as land, climate, soil and other factors. These factors play a major role in influencing the taste and aromas of wine. Wine Geeks - Soil

This website will list the world’s top 10 soils that are capable in producing top quality wine. Which includes soil from France, Germany, Napa Valley and even Australia. Each provides a brief explanation of what content is in the soil as well as how the soil content affects wine production.


Wine Spectator

This online magazine site provides lots of resources on articles, news, reviews and culture of wine. Famous individuals such as James Suckling and James Laube are one of the few critics who tasted hundreds of wines and published their reviews in this magazine.  You can also easily find what wines to drink and for what value as well, a great resource for individuals interested in wine.


Wine Tasting

This taste tells you the basics in wine tasting, what food pairings, storage and the method of naming the wine.  This is a great site to go to for a quick lesson on wine basics. If you are planning to go on your first wine tasting trip this site will educate you on how to fully enjoy a glass of wine.
